Really disappointing. Just a really bad meal all around.. Starting from the big house special (5 different meats/sauces) to our French fries. It was over priced and just plain gross. Not to mention the actual place looks completely dirty.

I do not care what anyone else says about this place, they are wrong!!! Best boneless buffalo wings I have ever had. They are big and meaty. Just how I like it. Also there southern style greens, oh yes amazing. Oh friendly staff as well. It is a tiny place but in my opinion, these are amongst the best food places. You cannot go by looks of a place. The kitchen looked clean compared to fast food places and other top restaurants who are dirty beyond your imagination. I really think people need glasses. It's not the prettiest place but what do I care. The food is AWESOME!! Definitely one of the best places in Delco. It's hard to find places like this. I used to live in the city, so I know good food. And the prices are very reasonable. I look forward to trying more items on their menu and I am very happy I found this awesome place.

My family and I picked up BBQ from this place. We had mac and cheese and a rack of the pork spare ribs. Considering the lack of BBQ available in this area I think this place is pretty good. The ribs were tasty and tender. I thought the sauce was just right. The service was quick and efficient it was ready within 15 min. It was barely enough time to drive there and pick it up. I would go back again. In terms of people saying this place was dirty I'd have to say yes it isn't the cleanest place in the world. However, all the food prep areas appeared clean. The places that I felt could be cleaner were the floor and the small waiting area but this certainly didn't influence the quality of the food. Based off my feelings of this place I don't think I'd order Mexican food from them. I think there would be better places in this area. I'm surprised that this place got so many bad reviews. It is certainly not a 1 star place in my book.

We just hired Pig Daddy's to cater a party for 35 people. Not only was the food spectacular, but also the quantities were enormous. There were leftovers for everyone to take home. Arranging the menu and setup could not have been easier. Chris is a pleasure to deal with. This was the easiest gig I've ever arranged. The crew arrived exactly on time, set up quickly, had an efficient line, kept the chilled food cold and the hot food warm. Very accommodating of special requests. They cleaned up and left the area spotless. I cannot say enough good about Pig Daddy's and look forward to hiring them again!

Yikes, where do I start. After reading all the good reviews online about one of the best places for bbq, we ordered and drove to pick it up. I was the one picking up the order. Had I seen the place first, we never would have ordered from here. Walking in the door you come into the smallest, dirtiest waiting area I have ever seen. Had the feel of a greasy car repair shop, not a food establishment. There wasn't a clean surface anywhere, the chairs for people to sit on where filthy, literally. It looked like nothing had been cleaned or disinfected ever.... only enough room for 2-3 people. Let me just say we will not be ordering from this place again because of the condition of the place, which makes you question the storage of the food and overall food safety. Doesn't Delco have health inspectors? This place is way overdue for a visit before someone gets sick. Those who took the challenge and ate the NC bbq sandwiches and chips said it was tasty but nothing memorable, but they did however spend the night in the "facilities" saying it went right through them. no wonder. My personal advice would be to find a clean bbq place that serves just bbq, and not a confusing bunch of mexican, too. Chips were good but bland. Odd set up and so very dirty. Beware, see the place before you eat the food. All I can figure, is whoever on the websites for good regional bbq (other than yelp) did not pick up the orders they ate themselves. Me thinks the reviews would be much different.

Haven't tried this joint in years. Always wondered why. Then my order arrived at my house. Excitedly open the bag to find no sides. Called and was told they'd be there shortly. They were and then it all kicked in. The sides are barely that. To call them sides is a crime. Then the much anticipated ribs. Dry is an understatement. The wings were undercooked with lots of red inside. The BBQ shrimp were the best of the bunch but still left something to be desired. All in all very disappointing. Remember now why it had been years since I'd been there. Threw the menu out. Never again.

Tried this place. Was ok at best. I was disappointed. It would have so much potential if only it were good. I suggest the owner do some traveling down south and get new recipes

Used to go here every once in a while and it was pretty hit or miss but mostly hit and if you caught it on the right day it was actually pretty amazing. I think that's when a lot of the buzz started about this place but it's gone extremely down hill and I no longer go. I tried some of the Mexican food. No idea why they sell it but it stinks. I asked the guy behind the counter what he eats a lot and he said he loves the burgers so I ordered a burger. It was absolutely awful. Decided to go back to the usual bbq brisket, chicken and ribs and it was pretty weak. Tasted kind of old. Also the sides were embarrassingly small. Bbq places are about big hearty portions. What's with the tiny ketchup container of baked beans?

You know, I really want to like this place. We need more great barbecue places in Delco. And I've found that the people who run this place are very nice and actually do seem to care about what they are doing, at least on the surface. Whenever I've been there, I've heard stories about how they make their own ingredients. I really think there's a measure of pride that they take here in what they serve. Which is why it actually pains me to say this. The last order I got from them, pretty underwhelming. It was an order for Super Bowl Sunday, and in basic terms this is how it went... The order of chipotle bbq wings were a letdown. Very faint chipotle flavor. It was barely there. They were not worth the price they were charging for them. And let's just say they weren't quite jumbo. The buffalo wings were not bad. Neither were the buffalo shrimp although they got a bit soggy in the takeout container. Consider it the hazard of getting takeout. My wife got fajitas, decided they were nothing special, and didn't even bother finishing them. The chips and salsa weren't bad, and were fresh and homemade. I really wish I could give more stars. But "Meh. I've experienced better." sums this up just right.

I don't know what everyone is complaining about. It's a bbq joint with good bbq. Nobody goes to a take out bbq joint for the ambiance. The food is very tasty with lots of different options.

One of dirtiest places I've ever entered. Hard to get exited about eating when you're surrounded y filth.

Tried this place several times and came away with the same result, awful food. The bill is always over $75 and the regret is priceless. The baked beans was like a lump of glue and really tasteless. The ribs were greasy and tasteless. They must boil them before they dab them with bar-b-q sauce. Yuck. I should have known it was a bad idea when I got attitude from the guy when I called in the order. If you want really great ribs and a byob then go to Jimmy's in Malvern. If you want something closer then try Engine 23 Smokehouse in Morton near the train station. Whatever you do, avoid this joint!!!!

The first two times we ordered from here it was fantastic! Fresh, and really delicious but the next two times we were super disappointed, they got our order wrong plus the chicken on my salad was almost inedible ...wanted to like it but not worth the money too inconsistent.

Before I begin, let me just vent a bit...I love barbeque. I am not a barbeque expert by any stretch. I know VA and NC are more pork oriented and Texas is more beef. I know some places putting sauce all over it is taboo. Whatever. I just like to eat it. My quick rant is there really needs to be more places in the Philly area to get it. I understand supply and demand. So that being said, more people need to like it. We have a place in Drexel Hill called Pig Daddy's. Decent bbq. Not overly memorable, but I will order from again at some point when the bbq hankering is back. First off, like others have said, Pig Daddy's is take-out only. The place is very small. Basically this place is a brick-and-mortar food truck. It is dark and dingy on the inside. As others have said, lack of cleanliness might be a concern, but on the other side, the important side where the food is, was satisfactory clean. The food arrives very quickly. And the food would satisfy anybody with a bbq craving. Is this a place worth driving out of your way too? No. Not really. But if you live in Drexel Hill, or within spitting distance, then by all means, visit here. Portions are large. One thing they need to work on is the Mac-and-Cheese. Certainly better than Popeyes, but it was basically penne pasta and cheez wiz like substance. It might be real cheese, but doubtful. The prices were fair. Maybe a smidge on the higher side. Not getting a deal, but not getting ripped off. I live in DH, so I'll be back.

Probably would never order from them again. Being someone from the south I admit I'm very picky about my bbq, but with that being said its not hard to create good bbq. I ordered the Carolina style pulled pork (which was the only thing I considered the best out of our order), the Texas style brisket (dry and tough) and a side of Mac n cheese (bland) and the sweet potatoes. My boyfriend ordered a side of the southern style collard greens (which did not taste like it was cooked with ham or pork which is supposed to be southern style) the brisket burrito (ok) and buffalo wings (were pretty decent). I don't really like putting places down but I was so let down since the only place to find good bar-b-que seems to be in West Philly. Guess I shouldn't stray anymore.

I had a hankering for some BBQ, opposed to going to McDonald's or other fast food fare. So, my fiancee found this place near where my son plays little league. Wanting to find a good "go-to" BBQ place, I decided to try this place. HUGE MISTAKE Okay, my fiancee ordered over the phone, otherwise I would have seen the first red flag...what BBQ joint in the world sell MEXICAN FOOD and BBQ? I didn't find that out until after I grabbed a menu on the way out. Well, on the drive home, I of course could smell the food I'd picked up. I kept smelling different and conflicting smells from the bag. I smelled something I can't even describe, and also vingear, and some other stuff. We get the food home, and it looks like dog food. Who makes macaroni and cheese with penne? Why did the green beans look like escarole? Why in the world did the BBQ sauce on the ribs and chicken wings taste like TOMATO SAUCE??? I made it through 2 ribs and put it away. I actually re-prepared them tonight, and used my own BBQ sauce, and they tasted so much better. In what world can I cook a BBQ joint's food BETTER than they make it??? Stay away from this place...for your own sanity...and for your own pallet...

Not very good. Tried it twice to see if it was a fluke both times it was not very good. Especially after getting back from South Carolina and good bbq.

We have eaten here multiple times. The very last time my girlfriend got the ribs and got severely sick (probably food poisoning) vomiting and diarrhea for 2 days. Needless to say that will have been our last time eating from there.

Bbq sundae delicious. Sweet potato fries and pulled pork fries also awesome. And Spanish fries. Those are what I come for. Awesome

Went here for a pulled pork sandwich on a Friday night. Meat was quality, tender, and had a nice taste. Roll was fresh. Cole slaw was overly creamy and tortilla chips were an odd pairing, but whatever. For $7, not a bad value. So not as good as a high-end BBQ place in the city, but for neighborhood grade fare at a cheap price, I was satisfied.

This tiny take out joint offers a hodgepodge menu of foods -- from traditional barbecue faire to Mexican and Creole dishes. For all of you barbecue snobs out there Pig Daddy's is a significant step up from Famous Dave's, which makes the journey to Drexel Hill worthwhile. But be forewarned: Their greatest challenge appears to be maintaining consistency. Sometimes I've stopped in and ordered the perfect pulled pork sandwich -- savory, smokey and with just enough tang -- while at other times I've walked away sadly disappointed. But there are more good days than bad days at Pig Daddy's and it all seems to depend upon the watchful presence of the owner, who is a talented cook and canny businessman.

Heard great things about this place, so I took the opportunity to pay them a visit when I was nearby... and boy was I disappointed. First of all, what is with the menu in this place? Is it a BBQ joint or a Mexican take-out? Or Creole cuisine? Not to mention the random inclusions like a cuban sandwich and a cheese steak. Way too many choices, no focus at all. Pick your strength and stick to it. I was there for 'cue, so I ordered the pulled pork -- which inexplicably came with a side of chips and salsa, btw -- and it was not good. No smoke flavor at all, and hardly any vinegar tang in the sauce. Baked beans and slaw tasted like supermarket food. Probably the first time I ever went to a BBQ joint and didn't finish my food. Now I'm left scratching my head as to why this place has earned so many accolades... should I have ordered a burrito?

Finding this place is a nightmare (think U-turn over train tracks) and parking is nonexistent, so expect to walk a block or two from street parking. Looks like takeout is the only option, so just know that going in. We ordered a chicken and rib bbq, and a bunch of sides like mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. All the food was pretty good, but nothing that knocked my socks off. For the trouble of getting there and the prices ($45 for enough to feed 4 people which I think was a tad high for the quality), this place did not quite meet my expectations.

This is the best kept secret in the area. Their BBQ Cheesesteak is PHENOMENAL and a nice spin on an old friend. I'm a serious "foodie" and this place always treats me right. Great staff, great owners delicious food!

Heard a lot about this place. The staff was very friendly when I arrived and the service was prompt. I got half a slab of ribs, sweet potatoes for my side and corn bread... the corn bread was great. Everything else? Not so much... Ribs were tender but poorly flavored. Sweet potatoes weren't good at all. I can't recommend this place. Sorry...

I tried to like this place. There is no barbecue in this area. After the non existent parking extravaganza was solved, I walked in and met Chris, one of the family owners. He gave me some samples that were mehhh. I got the ribs home and they were bland. He kinda bragged about not using a certain type of wood because it makes the ribs taste too smoky. I was starving so I ate the ribs but they were not that great. I ordered again to visit some family and bought some burgers Chris said would be "running down your chin". They were dry as a bone. The ribs tasted like they were done in an oven. The others in my gathering said the meat was gamey tasting. It was really kinda gross. The pulled pork is okay. A little dried out and chewy. I'm sorry, Chris, you are a great guy and I really wanted to like your place but the prices are extremely high for food I would give a 3 out of ten. I won't be back.

It was my husband's birthday last night and I was too sick to go out. We called up for delivery and the food was fantastic. Joe ordered the Taco platter and he loved it. The meat was tender and smoky and it came with 4 soft taco shells, salsa and he got the armadillo eggs. i got the All Mexed up Enchiladas which came with 3 different enchiladas, refriend beans and rice. I could only eat half, the rest is in the fridge for lunch today. They delivered fast and the food was still hot! We usually get the Big Burrito which is fantastic but I'm so glad we tried something else. Yes, other reviewers, sometimes they are out of an item and I do think they should shorten their menu a bit but you've got to give it to them for having such diversity! You can get anything from Mexican to a cheesteak. We actually called them back to give them high praise for a job well done! The only complaint I have is that they gave us chips but no salsa. Can't wait until we order again!! Christine

Well, I'm a big fan of BBQ so since moving to Philly, it's been a quest of mine to find all the good places here. SO tonite, we decided to try this place out. Well, I was a little disappointed. Maybe my expectations were too high, but after reading the comments on the website and seeing the menu, i thought, "Jackpot!" We got the BIg house special, which is 5 of the meats they do, 2 sides, supposed to include salsa, chips and bread. Well, first they were out of brisket, which was fine cuz sometimes that happens no biggie, Then, they were out of greens, which again no big deal. Well, i got home and there was no salsa or bread with the meal, Okay im still doin okay, but now onto the food. THe chips were stale, the potato salad was definetly lackluster, the potatoes were kinda gritty and not much flavor to boot. The beans were pretty tasty. THe smoke sausage, was well mediocre. THe chicken was not good at all, no flavor and was almost sweet. The turkey, my wife liked it. The pulled pork was okay.. SO we only got four meats, so maybe we will give it another shot but, after talkin to the owner about being in competitons and all that, this was a no win situation for me...

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
